SUMMARY:

Clayton Lau, MD is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Urology/Urologic Oncology at the City of Hope Medical Center. His expertise and interests are in minimally invasive approaches to urologic oncology and reconstructive urology. He has lectured and taught numerous surgeons robotic surgery throughout the nation. Dr. Lau has extensive experience in performing Robotic Prostatectomy, Robotic Cystectomy, Robotic Partial Nephrectomy, Robotic Pyeloplasty, Laparoscopic Cytoreductive Radical Nephrectomy, Laparoscopic Radical Nephrectomy, and Laparoscopic Renal Cryoablation. He is committed to comprehensive and compassionate urologic care on all his patients, and enjoys establishing a professional and tight knit relationship with his patients. His research focus is developing and reporting on new techniques to improve outcomes. He has written and contributed to a number of journal research articles, book chapters, abstracts and video presentations.
Dr. Lau earned a Bachelors of Arts degree at Whittier College while being a two sport athlete in football and track & field. He then completed his medical doctorate at Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts. He completed his general surgery internship and urology residency at Tufts University, then Urologic Oncology Fellowship at City of Hope Medical Center. Dr. Lau has been on staff at City of Hope Medical Center since 2006. He has completed more than 1000 robotic and laparoscopic surgeries. Additionally he is a member of the American Urologic Association, Society of Urologic Oncology, and the Society of Laparoendoscopic surgeons.
